Janet’s suburban garden in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand is a picture of productivity. In this video Janet shares some tips for making the most of a small space and how to use free and recycled materials to make your garden highly productive, low cost and sustainable.
Her tips include:
- Collect coffee grounds to use as mulch, deter slugs and grow oyster mushrooms on!
- Select dwarf fruit trees of small space orcharding
- Use wine bottles filled with water for raised bed edging – the water helps heat the soil
- Let chickens do most of your garden work – fertilizing, weeding, pest control
Janet also runs online courses about gardening and small livestock, which you can learn more about here.
